UNF President Christophe Giovannetti Honored to Represent the Union Nations Federation at UNESCO for World Art Day 2025
The Union Nations Federation (UNF), under the leadership of its President Christophe Giovannetti, proudly took part in the 3rd edition of the World Art Day International Forum, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Organized by Dr. Guila Clara Kessous, UNESCO Artist for Peace and a renowned voice in cultural diplomacy, the forum brought together a diverse gathering of artists, diplomats, academics, and humanitarians to celebrate art as a transformative force for peace, dignity, and social cohesion.
President Giovannetti, speaking on behalf of the UNF, emphasized the organization’s deep belief in the unifying power of culture and the arts. “Art is not only a language—it is a bridge. It creates understanding across nations, fosters inclusion, and uplifts the most vulnerable voices. The UNF is proud to support such initiatives that mirror our mission to build a more just and compassionate world,” he stated.
The event featured powerful performances and panels, including themes such as Art and Healing, Human Rights and Social Health, and Peace Education. One of the most touching moments came from a collaborative performance involving cancer patients and WHO representatives, illustrating how art can become a space of resilience and recovery. Artists like Natasha St-Pier and Anna Torres moved the audience with heartfelt performances that reflected the role of artistic expression in navigating human challenges.
The UNF’s presence at UNESCO further reinforced its engagement in causes aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the fields of health, education, cultural access, and peacebuilding. Through the “No Mercy for Malaria” campaign and other global initiatives, the UNF continues to promote meaningful change in communities across continents—using both diplomacy and creativity to address today’s most pressing humanitarian issues.
World Art Day 2025 served as a reminder that in times of uncertainty, art remains a source of truth and resistance. It is not merely a tool for beauty or comfort, but a vital agent of transformation. As Dr. Kessous powerfully declared, “Art is not a luxury—it is a necessity.”
